(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 28 - After blocking traffic on a stretch of the Grande Raccordo Anulare in Rome - parking vans on the road and opening umbrellas - several street vendors are now slowly parading along the Gra with their own vans headed to Piazza della Repubblica, where a sit-in is taking place.
"We will have a meeting in the prefecture in the morning, which will also be attended by the Minister for Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti", explains Manrico Rosato, national secretary of the Ugl national ambulant association.
The demonstrators protest against "the ban that the mayor of Rome wants to carry out in the capital, putting 18,000 concessions at risk, owned by 12,000 street vendors in Rome".
