VIDEO. Paris: the largest climbing gym in France opens in the capital

After months of work, the network of indoor climbing rooms, Climb Up, has opened its brand new complex to the general public, a stone's throw away.


Nearly 4,000 m2 of space entirely dedicated to climbing, in the heart of Paris: this is the challenge set by the Climb Up network (*), which has just opened the largest climbing hall in France. , close to the Porte d'Italie.

After long months of work, the place, already ready at the end of January, could not open its doors to the general public until June 9, like all the other indoor sports structures.

“We were impatient, confesses Marc Paoli, Climb Up Ile-de-France operating director.

It feels good to see people again and to find the teams there ”.

Climbing enthusiasts are also delighted.

"The spaces are large, ventilated and there is something to do, whether we like to practice blocks or ropes", notes Clément, who had not worked a route since the first confinement.

With its 240 blocks spread over 2,500 m2, its 400 m2 space dedicated to rope climbing (with 11 m high sections), its sauna, its walls suitable for novices or the more experienced… The brand new complex attracts already many followers.

New kids too, like Joy, a harness on the hips who enjoys being able to practice a new discipline.

“The room is huge.

We don't step on top of each other.

It's very pleasant, ”she comments.

The room has also been designed to accommodate groups of people with disabilities, with specially trained monitors.
