"We could stay for hours looking at them!"
The Doué-la-Fontaine Bioparc welcomed the birth of two new snow leopards, Jangali and Makalu, on Friday July 2.
An “exceptional” event for the species, which is particularly vulnerable.
Only 17 other panthers have seen the light of day in the last twelve months in European animal parks.

“We are really happy with the birth of these two panthers and very impatient to see the little ones crawling in their huge park!
We are going to watch them grow, learn, see them evolve alongside their mother, ”said Sylvanie Dabin, the Snow Leopard caretaker at the Bioparc.
This species lives mainly in the regions of Tibet and Kazakhstan.
Threatened by humans and global warming, its population is in decline.
It is estimated that just under 3,500 individuals remain in the wild.
