Thirteen days before the PASO elections and after a year and five months of restrictions on access to classrooms in the Province, Axel Kicillof announced the
return of “full presence” in all schools
in Buenos Aires starting this Wednesday .
The General Directorate of Schools reported this Monday that, in accordance with what was approved at the last meeting of the Federal Council of Education, the Province will begin a "new stage of careful presence in all its educational institutions" and that from September 1 "
The care measures
related to the reference social distancing within the classroom
are updated
".
The operation of the school system in Buenos Aires is
one of the last to return to a certain normality
that was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. Almost all industries, businesses and economic relations already operate in the provincial territory. There is mobility and social gatherings are allowed and even racetracks and gambling halls are enabled, with protocols.
But face-to-face education continued at all levels with the pattern of
bubbles
and the attendance of students in
schools in
shifts
: one week a group, the next another contingent of children.
This was imposed by the "Jurisdictional Plan for Careful Class Attendance" that was drawn up by the School authorities and which was endorsed by the teachers' unions.
In this way, public and private educational centers have been operating since mid-June, when the partial return of students to their desks was enabled.
This modality provoked resistance among groups of parents who organized to demand the complete return.
