(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, NOVEMBER 11 - The leader of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah-Lebanese, Hasan Nasrallah, today accused Saudi Arabia of causing the diplomatic and commercial crisis between Beirut and Riyadh, stating that the reaction to the statements of the Lebanese information minister George Qordahi was "very exaggerated".
During a televised interview that aired in October, Qordahi had publicly defended the Huthi insurgents, close to Iran, accusing Saudi Arabia of carrying out an aggression against the Yemeni people. Riyadh has conducted a military campaign against the Huthi uprising in Yemen since 2015 in the broader context of the rivalry between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
In recent days, the Saudi Foreign Minister Faysal benFarhan had stated that the problem goes far beyond the declarations of Minister Qordahi.
