The criminal police in Berlin are investigating after an attack on a money transporter in front of a supermarket in Neukölln.
The perpetrators fled with the loot, said a police spokesman.
At least two men waited around 2 p.m. for an employee of a security company when he wanted to stow a suitcase of money in the van in the Britz district.
The 31-year-old was threatened with a gun, the spokesman said.
Then tear gas was sprayed in his face.
The perpetrators grabbed the suitcase of money and fled on scooters.
According to the police, the driver of the money transporter was alone in action.
He suffered an eye irritation.
