Bordeaux sacked their coach Vladimir Petkovic due to the disappointing results of the team, 19th in the Ligue 1 standings and fresh off the bad defeat (0-5) against Reims.
Petkovic joined Bordeaux last summer, after leading Switzerland (of which he was coach for almost eight years) to the quarter-finals of Euro 2020. In the past he also coached Lazio, winning an Italian Cup in 2013 by beating Roma in the final.
Along with Petkovic, his assistant, the Italian former Inter midfielder Antonio Manicone, was also sent away.
