In October 2021 Olivier Rousteing revealed, after a year of silence, to have been the victim of a terrible fire which burned his face.
Following an explosion, his Parisian apartment had caught fire, injuring the French stylist who had been treated at Saint-Louis hospital, in the 10th arrondissement.
This Sunday, February 6, guest of Laurent Delahousse in “8:30 p.m. on Sunday”, the creator returned to his career, he who took the reins of the Balmain house at only 24 years old, and also to this tragic event.

“You have been through something very strong and very intense.
Was it tough?” asks the journalist from France 2. Olivier Rousteing, still very touched, replies: “It was horrible.
Horrible in two ways... I was lucky to go to Saint-Louis Hospital and to have met incredible souls.
(…) It was extremely hard to wake up in the morning with my whole face burned.”
The young man also explains the fears he may have had vis-à-vis his professional environment.
“Imperfection is frowned upon in fashion.
It worried me.”
Despite his notoriety and intense activity on social networks, the designer wanted a secret convalescence.
“I was very scared, I had to camouflage myself.
But above all, I had social networks.
You pretend to have a life that sometimes doesn't exist.
For a year, I was able to camouflage myself without necessarily feeling good.
I wanted to heal in private.”
And to add, moved: "But with my notoriety, I could not erase myself completely".
