(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, FEBRUARY 14 - Less than 6% of the Syrian population have completed the vaccination cycle and only 10% have received the first dose: the UN Office for Humanitarian Coordination (OCHA) reports today, which publishes data from the areas under control governmental, Russian and Iranian.
In the north-west areas, under control and Turkish flu, 287,000 people received the first dose (about 7%) while only 146,500 completed the vaccination course.
The ON states that 4 million 400 thousand people with urgent humanitarian needs reside in north-western Syria.
Two weeks ago, the Italian government announced that it had given Syria around 4 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson Janssen anti-Covid vaccine through the international Covax platform.
