A 25-year-old German has been sentenced to ten years in prison in Austria for serious sexual abuse of children.
Investigators had tracked down the man in connection with the Münster abuse complex.
The regional court in Klagenfurt also decided on Monday to commit him to an institution for "mentally abnormal lawbreakers".
The defendant, who comes from the Stuttgart area, admitted in the process that he had abused seven children.
Among them was his little son.
He became a victim when he was still a baby.
The man and his former partner were arrested in Austria at the end of 2020.
According to prosecutors, they had sometimes abused children together.
The 45-year-old ex-partner was sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in January and was also committed to an institution for "mentally abnormal lawbreakers".
Since the younger man committed most of the crimes he is accused of in Germany, he was sentenced to ten years.
According to the judge, this is the highest possible penalty for the offense under German law.
The two judgments are not yet final.
In the abuse complex uncovered in 2020, children were raped in a gazebo in Münster and other places.
So far, the police have identified more than 30 victims and located over 50 suspects, some of whom have already been convicted.
Investigators also found crime videos on the main perpetrator, which were recorded by the Austrian and the 25-year-old German.
