He drew the picture of himself as a professional failure and admitted the allegations “without reservation”: A 35-year-old Munich resident stated before the Munich I Regional Court that a 12-year-old had been raped in a forest south of Munich after an online agreement and video recordings of indeed to have spread.

The public prosecutor accuses the man of serious sexual abuse of children, rape and distribution of child pornography.

The accused is said to have "approved" the fact that it was a girl under the age of 14.

The case is part of a larger abuse complex.

The alleged main perpetrator, who is said to have offered the Munich girl for sex, is currently on trial in another trial in Flensburg.

The Munich defendant explained in court that he had lost his job in spring 2020 and that the subsequent search for a new job failed.

He had found himself in a phase of life in which he had completely lost his compass.

He asked for "pardon for something really unforgivable" and said he had been in therapy for weeks.

Defendant apparently secretly filmed women having sex

A police officer called as a witness reported to the court about the search of the man's apartment and the seized videos that showed him having sex with other women.

When asked by the presiding judge, the accused admitted to secretly recording the videos.

At least in one case, a rape was played, the investigator said.

The court also dealt in detail with the question of whether the accused could be associated with child pornography in further cases.

In the abuse complex, a total of nine men are accused of abusing the girl.

One of them, a 33-year-old, was sentenced to four years and ten months in prison in Munich in February, while another is being tried at the Munich district court.

Judgment could come next Monday

According to the prosecutor, the alleged main perpetrator, who is on trial in Flensburg, is said to have written to the girl via the online platform Snapchat in January 2021, posing as a 17-year-old.

After a few days of intense messaging, he asked the child if she would be willing to have sex with other men.

The girl consented – because she had developed feelings for the chat partner, as stated in the indictment of the case that had already been judged – and out of “childlike curiosity”.

The investigations against this main culprit had started by chance because the defendant is said to have offered sex with a classmate of the twelve-year-old via social networks, according to a court spokesman in Flensburg.

The classmate reported this to the school.

Three days of negotiations are scheduled for the trial before the youth protection chamber of the Munich I Regional Court, and a verdict could be made next Monday.
