(ANSA) - CAIRO, MARCH 23 - The next hearing in the ongoing trial in Mansura against Patrick Zaki was brought forward by one day to April 5.
This was announced by his principal legal representative, Hoda Nasrallah, in refusing both to explain the reason for the change and to formulate any expectations on the subject and outcome of the fifth hearing so far scheduled for April 6.
The date had been indicated by the same Egyptian student from the University of Bologna at the end of the previous hearing, that of 1 February held behind closed doors.
"We cannot formulate expectations about what will happen," Hoda said speaking to ANSA on the phone.
"Every time we present requests and we wait to be able to harangue but the permission does not arrive - she added - we have stopped expecting something. It is difficult to predict".
"The court listens to our requests and then does what it wants," she noted.
The human and civil rights activist is on the loose after being released from prison on December 8, which has reached the end of 22 months in custody, but without the possibility of returning to Italy.
