The commander in chief, who ate a slice of pizza (salami and jalapeño) with the soldiers in the canteen, told of his family in Ireland and Beau, recalling when the president went to Baghdad, where his son was stationed, and noted that he did not use his surname.
Beau (who died in recent years of cancer) explained to him that being called Biden could be a "headache" in his whereabouts and that he therefore preferred to use 'Hunter', the maiden surname of his dead mother (which is also his brother's name).
