(ANSA) - TARANTO, 04 APR - The lawyers of the Ilva commissioners in Extraordinary Administration presented a request for release from seizure of the plants in the hot area of the steel plant, now managed by Acciaierie d'Italia, to the Corted'Assise of Taranto.
These are the plants under seizure since July 26, 2012 on the basis of an order signed by the investigating judge Todiscon as part of the investigation by criminal association aimed at the environmental disaster, the poisoning of foodstuffs and the willful omission of precautions on work sites.
The company was then granted the right of use.
According to the extraordinary commissioners of Ilva in As the scenario of emissions has changed compared to ten years ago thanks to environmental works and there are the conditions for revoking the seizures.
The Court of Assizes of Taranto which received the request is the same that on 1 June 2021 issued the first degree sentence of the '' Ambiente Svenduto "trial, inflicting 26 sentences (between factory managers, managers and politicians) for 270 years of prison and by ordering both the confiscation of the plants in the hot area and the confiscation for the equivalent of the illicit profit against the three companies Ilva spa, Riva fire and Riva fornielettrici for a sum of 2.1 billion. 22 years and 20 years of imprisonment for Fabio and Nicola Riva, former owners and directors of Ilva.
