The Senate classroom approved with 190 votes in favor, none against and 23 abstentions the bill concerning the mandate of the mayors, management control and the non-conferral of offices.
The measure, approved by the House last November, is now law.
The text introduces changes to the consolidated text referred to in legislative decree 267/2000 and provides, among other things, that the mayors of municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants can carry out up to 3 consecutive mandates and that top management positions are not entrusted under private law in the event of a conviction for crimes against the public administration.
