(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 07 - Emma Raducanu, winner of the last US Open, is not sure she will be able to play at Wimbledon, in less than three weeks, after her retirement due to injury in the first round of the WTA tournament in Nottingham.
The 19-year-old British threw in the towel after 33 minutes and a massage on her left side, due to a possible muscle problem.
"I'm not sure what happened. It's a really weird injury," Raducanu said at a press conference.
"Wimbledon? I have no idea. First I have to see what the exams are saying" she added speaking of the tournament scheduled from June 27th to July 10th.
This is her third retirement from her senior debut a year ago at the previous Nottingham tournament.
He had already had to leave Guadalajara prematurely in February and in Rome last month.
