Our eye is drawn to a symmetrical look, and as a result we like to see pairs.
However when it comes to home design, we are also looking for design tension that will create interest in the space.
Sometimes the symmetry that is pleasing to the eye becomes too pleasant and produces a uniform, almost dull standard.
To create the interest we do not give up on the duo, but do upset the balance between its two parts in a way that requires our eye to delve deeper.
The pair games are ones that arouse interest in space, but as with everything else here too one should not exaggerate.
One pair is enough to convey the message and create the designed look, and beyond that - if you put a certain pair in the space, it is important that the other items around it be individual, because if you put a pair next to a pair - the look will become too made and strenuous.

There are pairs that are placed next to each other, such as decorative figurines, living room tables and other items, and there are those that produce a wider allusion, for example in doors - where the inside of the front door can be adjusted to the interior door.
They will be distant from each other, but the same example will tie them together and create a kind of amplified couple message.
One of the well-known pairs are designed stands for flower pots.
In this case, each pot can be placed with a different look, so that the stand itself, which will have the same shape in different sizes, will get more interest if the plants chosen are different.
The type and size of the plants will be a significant addition to the look that will be obtained: it is possible to combine a pot with flowers next to a pot that is entirely vegetable, or a tall plant and in front of it a lower plant.

Tips for creating pairs
Different size to create an interesting composition: A duo consisting of two items of different size is more interesting.
The eye that is accustomed to the symmetrical look should get used to the violation of legality, but not to the end.
Since the two items are identical in appearance, the symmetrical regularity is partially sewn, leaving a great deal of harmony.
This can be seen in the buttons of designed flushing vessels, which usually come in geometric shapes of squares or circles in two different sizes, in decorative baskets, on coffee tables and more.
If the pair is the exact same size, as in the case of armchairs, you should place a table between them.
Another option is to place the table next to one of the armchairs.
It is less advisable to place a side table next to each armchair - it will make it look symmetrical and made too.

Placing in close proximity to create dialogue: When it comes to decorative items such as a stand for flower pots, storage baskets or small furniture items such as tables and stools, it is important to make sure that the two parts of the pair are close together.
The composition is important and it creates empowerment for the look - if you choose a pair of storage baskets and place each of them in a different place in the house, the pair will have no meaning.

How to place: When it comes to decorative items like vases or figurines, you should place one in front of the other to generate interest.
The idea is to avoid placing them side by side in a row reminiscent of a display, and be sure to place the large item and the small item in front of it at a slight distance.
In this way depth is created.
A trio of items can also be considered, but in many cases a trio makes the overall look less nonchalant and much more forced.
There are trios of coffee tables that can be well received, but when it comes to placing decorative items in the space, it is advisable to give up the third and stay in pairs.

Completion of individual items that will break the relationship: If you have chosen to place a pair in space, it is important to break the relationship using individual items.
A single table will be placed between two identical armchairs, and around a pair of identical pictures on the wall you should make sure that the items are single, and vice versa: if you chose a pair of coffee tables, make sure that one wide picture is hung on the wall.
