Julie Cruz, the voice behind Falling, the opening melody in director David Lynch's successful series "Twin Peaks," passed away yesterday (Thursday), following a battle with lupus.
"She left this dimension on her own terms," her husband Edward Greenen praised her on his Facebook page. "Rest in peace, my beloved," he wrote.
Cruz, who has collaborated extensively with director David Lynch, released her debut album Floating Into the Night in 1989.
The album included the song Falling, which is probably most associated with her.
The beginning of the successful collaboration between Cruz and Lynch in 1986 in the film "Blue Velvet", in which she sang Mysteries of Love.
Cruz not only sang the opening tune in "Twin Peaks," but also appeared in the series, in the prequel film "Fire Walks With Me" and in the third season of "Twin Peaks."
Regarding the relationship between her and Lynch, she said in an interview in 2018: "It's like I'm my little sister. You do not like your big brother telling you what to do. David is stupid. He can have tantrums sometimes and he has a hot temper. Anyone can look funny when he I'm upset, but I love him. "
