Despite the early dissolution of the Chambers, Deputies and Senators will not lose the right to the pro quota pension of this legislature, albeit for a handful of days.
The rules that regulate the so-called annuities, in reality a pension form that takes place at the age of 65, provides that the right to the quota accrues for the five years of the legislature, when this has reached 4 years, six months and one day.
The fateful date is September 24, while the Chambers were dissolved today.
However, the Constitution (article 61, second paragraph) states that "until the new Chambers are brought together, the powers of the previous ones are extended", so much so that they examine any urgent decrees issued in the meantime or other necessary acts of the government, such as legislative implementation of the proxies.
The next elections will take place on 25 September and the new chambers will take office on 15 October, as our Charter always foresees: 21 days after the fateful "save pensions" date.
