(ANSA) - TRIESTE, JUL 23 - If the huge fire that has developed on the Trieste Karst finally seems to be under control and dozens of firefighters and three helicopters are still operating, serious problems are reported a few kilometers further east, just across the border, in Slovenia, where the front of the fire is displaced.
Yesterday hundreds of people were evacuated who spent the night away from home, many in a specially set up collection center.
The areas near Cerje and Trstelje are particularly worrying as new fires are reported.
11 helicopters are already at work on site.
Returning to Italy, the fire that broke out yesterday in Savogna, in Friuli, is also under control, but problems still occur in Val Resia, where outbreaks persist and connections are still interrupted.
A Canadair and two helicopters will operate in the area today;
one of the latter will also make some water launches in Pulfero (Udine) to definitively extinguish the rogodivampato yesterday.
In the early afternoon, Riccardo Riccardi, the deputy governor of the Fvg with powers of Civil Protection and Health, will arrive in Val Resia to carry out an inspection.
