DIY stores convince with their large and, above all, well-assorted product ranges.

But even here, small mistakes can always creep in - and then cause a lot of laughter.

Munich - Hardly any other shop can come up with such a large and diverse range of products as a hardware store: from plants and the associated pots or garden utensils to screws or nails in all imaginable sizes.

Due to the sheer size of the range, small errors creep in here and there, for example items are labeled incorrectly or offers are not presented as such.

Attentive customers rarely miss even these small faux pas.

On the Internet, these dropouts regularly cause ridicule and laughter.

Curious Hornbach product: dessert at the hardware store?

It was supposed to be just an ordinary purchase in a Hornbach branch, but a Twitter user came across a curious article.

"Yummy snacks at @Hornbach_tweets," he quipped alongside a picture of the price tag.

The customers should actually find a large camouflage net on the corresponding goods shelf, it was provided with the name "Dessert".

Why the product is called that, of all things, can only be guessed at, the network definitely has nothing to do with a dessert.

Since camouflage nets are used, for example, by the German Armed Forces in desert missions, a misprint could possibly be responsible for the curious sign: Wüste means "desert" in English, which was probably how the net was originally advertised.

The error is not only limited to the goods in the stores, but also to the online shop of the hardware store giant.

Here, too, the net is referred to as a sweet temptation.

The chain is not lacking in creativity, as this new way of shopping clearly shows.

Strange Hornbach product: hardware store chain reacts with humour

Curiously, the unusual product did not go unnoticed by the employees of Hornbach's social media department, who responded to the customer's original tweet with a healthy pinch of humor.

“Yes, these are the new camouflage cake dessert.

Often overlooked,” Hornbach commented under the photo, picking up on the well-known joke that camouflage is used for camouflage.

After the concluding question "where did you find that?", it is doubtful whether the sign will be there any longer.
