(ANSA) - FLORENCE, JULY 26 - A fire that developed in the municipality of Lastra a Signa forced the temporary suspension of air traffic arriving and departing from the Florence airport.
A decision taken by the airport authorities due to the smoke developed on the route of take-off and landing of the planes.
The fire, explained by the Region, started near a nursery and then spread rapidly, affecting olive groves, crops and woods.
"At the moment two helicopters are operating. 10 volunteer teams of the regional organization for forest fires, with firefighters guarding some homes", "additional volunteer teams are on the way to close the event as soon as possible".
