In several German cities, there were clashes between young people and the police on Halloween night.

As the police reported on Tuesday,

firecrackers and eggs were thrown in various parts of

Hamburg , as well as smaller fires.

Some people were also found with alarm guns, airsoft guns or sham weapons.

Garbage containers were also set on fire in some parts of the city.

According to the police, a group of young men handling firearms was reported by passers-by in the Niendorf district in the afternoon.

Alerted emergency services then found a 19-year-old with a baton, tear gas and an airsoft gun.

A 22-year-old companion of the man had an apparent weapon and a small amount of marijuana with him.

When asked, the people said they wanted to make a video for the school.

Up to 150 people in Harburg

The largest operation took place in the districts of Harburg and Wilhelmsburg.

According to the police report, up to 150 people gathered there.

Various groups repeatedly threw objects at emergency services, so the meeting places of these groups in both parts of the city were cleared, it said.

More than 20 criminal proceedings were initiated.

Around a dozen people were temporarily taken into police custody.

"The majority of children and young people moved peacefully from door to door," said police spokeswoman Sandra Levgrün.

"Unfortunately, this year we again had to deal with rioters who were obviously aiming for a confrontation with the emergency services."

Young people also became conspicuous at Lake Constance.

Around 20 people are said to have bothered residents in

Friedrichshafen

with noise, throwing eggs and small fires and, according to the police, "terrorized" them.

When officials arrived, they were also thrown at with eggs and stones, and a mattress and a garbage can were also set alight.

The partially masked young people fled in different directions.

Nevertheless, the police were able to determine the personal details of some of those involved.

The smaller fires were extinguished by the fire brigade.

Nobody was injured.

In

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

, the police in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district had to intervene several times.

As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, about 20 young people walked the streets in Plate in the evening.

They threw raw eggs, firecrackers and toilet paper at house facades.

The police took the personal details of 14 children and young people between the ages of 13 and 16 and issued space bans.

The teenagers are also said to have thrown firecrackers.

Young people are also said to have set off firecrackers in Redefin.

In Dabel, residents called the police after ringing the bell.

Young people are said to have previously celebrated a sprawling Halloween party there and then rang the doorbell.
