The famous French journalist and sports commentator was recruited as content manager almost two years ago by the Togolese private television group New World TV to orchestrate the creation of an editorial team, in view of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. .
The group acquired for around 15 million euros from Fifa the rights to broadcast the great mass of football in the French-speaking countries of sub-Saharan Africa, i.e. nineteen countries.
From Sunday November 20, it will offer all 64 competition matches on its New World Sport channel.
For the very first time, Africans will be able to watch the World Cup on television and from their mobile phones, with commentary in their language.
A system will allow them to choose between Wolof, Lingala, Ewe, Bambara, French...
