In the first aid decree of the Meloni government, "currently being finalized (so-called 'Aiutiquater')", the tax credits in favor of companies and the cut in excise duties on fuels will be proposed again until 31 December.

This can be read in the Nadef, published by the Mef, which underlines that "the Government has decided to confirm the deficit target for 2022 of the DEF and to use the resulting budget space, quantifiable in just over nine billion, in largely to cover new energy cost mitigation measures ".

The government will arrange to cover the financial effects of the purchases of natural gas made in recent months by the Energy Services Operator, amounting to 4 billion, removing the legal provision that the gas purchased from the GSE will be resold by the end of 2022. The measure will be provided for in "a special decree-law currently being finalized (so-called 'Aiutiquater')", as stated in the Nadef, approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers and published by the Mef.

The measure "will make it possible to later resell gas at prices that are less penalizing for public finances".

"Since the recent fall in the national gas price could be temporary - explains Nadef -,

this will make it possible to later resell the gas at prices that are less penalizing for public finances rather than immediately crystallize the related losses.

The expected revenues based on forward gas prices will be received and accounted for in 2023 ".
