At the Milan premiere of
Bones and All
on Saturday night, Italian authorities were forced to cancel the planned red carpet due to overcrowding of fans excited to catch a glimpse of the idol Timothée Chalamet.
The crowd, which was too compact, amassed hundreds of people, causing concern from the security forces, as reported by
Variety
.
The local police have thus decided to close the red carpet outside the Space Cinema Odeon, after they deemed the gathering uncontrollable.

The journalists were also dismissed, the actors of the film having finally not answered their questions.
The 26-year-old French-American star appeared on a balcony alongside actress Taylor Russell and director Luca Guadagnino to wave to the fiery crowd.
The screening nevertheless took place as planned.

The scenario of
Bones and All
is based on a novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis, published in 2015, it depicts the adventures of Lee and Maren, a cannibalistic couple who embark on a road trip in America in the 1980s. The film also stars Mark Rylance, André Holland and Chloë Sevigny, as well as Michael Stuhlbarg.

This Milan premiere represents the final high-profile event in the film's promotional cycle, which kicked off at the Venice Film Festival last September.
Luca Guadagnino was awarded the Silver Lion for best director by the festival jury, while actress Taylor Russell won the Marcello Mastroianni award.
The French release of
Bones and All
is scheduled for November 23.
