(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 19 - First results against the scourge of wild parking of electric scooters.

1,200 shared scooter users who had parked their vehicles incorrectly received an initial warning;

81 those who have been sanctioned, and 13 those who repeat offenders who have had their account blocked.

The data is provided by the consumer association ConsumerismoNo Profit and the sharing micro-mobility company Dott, which launched the first educational experiment in the world which, in the event of "wild" parking of shared electric scooters, sends a notification to users' smartphones and directs repeat offenders to courses of free driving.

"In four months over 1,200 users were contacted via in-app notification or email,

due to incorrect parking or an insufficiently clear photo of the end of the ride - Consumerismo and Dott explain - As envisaged by the project, in the second offense 81 users received a penalty from the operator for having parked outside the permitted areas or incorrectly in violation of the Code of the road.

Based on the data collected, it emerges that, in the face of a targeted and constant educational activity, the recurrence rate of users in parking incorrectly drops drastically and turns out to be very low: in fact, only 13 users have, in fact, committed the violation repeatedly, establishing a recurrence rate equal to only 2%".
