Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai has sent an e-mail message to employees announcing the 12,000-job cut at Google's co-controlled subsidiary.
This was reported by the Bloomberg Agency which cites the words of Pichai, who assumes "full responsibility for the decision" with which the internet search giant aligns itself with what other network giants such as Meta, Twitter and Amazon have already done .
"These - explains Pichai - are important moments to refine our objectives, review the cost base and divert our talents and our capital towards the main priorities".
According to Pichai, Google has "great opportunities ahead of it", including that of artificial intelligence, a key investment on which Google has begun to focus.
