While waiting to play the final phase of the 2023 European Championship in Romania and Georgia, the Under 21 national team will meet tomorrow, Thursday 2 February, in Nyon - the draw will begin at 9 - the opponents of the qualifying phase for the 2025 edition, which will play in Slovakia.
The 52 participating national teams, Russia is still excluded, will compete between March 2023 and November 2024 for 15 places in the final phase, to which the hosts have already qualified by right.
The teams, divided into six pots, will form seven groups of six and two groups of five.
The Azzurrini are placed in the first tier, together with Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Holland, England, Denmark and Romania.
The nine group winners and the three best runners-up (not counting their results against the sixth-placed sides) qualify directly for the summer 2025 finals. The six other runners-up will contest the last three places in the play-offs scheduled for November 2024.
