Étienne Daho has never given such a feeling of fullness as with the release of his new album, Tir la nuit sur les étoiles. "This record was written in a period of appeasement," he confirms. "What is nice about lasting is to master what you do, to know exactly what you want, how to communicate it, to work with others, it's super comfortable," he explains, serene.
The singer gives the feeling of having reached a new level in a journey that began a little over 40 years ago and placed under the sign of perpetual pleasure. "There was little uncertainty this time, unlike some projects where you wonder if you are really in the right direction. There, I did not even ask myself the question."
The record comes out six long years after the electric and bitter Blitz. "When I stop, I always feel like I don't know how to do that anymore. So I wait for it to come spontaneously, that I have no choice but to write." Nevertheless...
