"Ours was an absolutely legitimate choice of responsibility, otherwise we would continue with a 'failed' foundation without the administrative body and also the more important artistic management. And this would constitute a prejudice both for the Theater of Rome and for the very city it represents".
Thus, at ANSA, the vice-president of the Teatrodi Roma, Danilo Del Gaizo, after the controversy and the rift in the Board of Directors over the appointment of the new president of the foundation.
"I hope that reasonableness and common sense will prevail and that the parties will meet", he underlines.
"We have already expressed our opinion on the legitimacy of the continuation of the work. It was simply the continuation of a meeting decided unanimously by the board of directors itself, in the presence of all its members - he reiterates -. Evidently since the session was open there was no possibility of postponing it from part of a single councillor, even if it were the president. This is the legal issue", he specifies.
"The issue of opportunity is determined by the fact that the Foundation cannot function without a general director.
This is something foreseen by the statute and which has always been highlighted, even in previous meetings of the Board of Directors - adds Del Gaizo -. Even more so since it is necessary to complete the programming to be sent to the ministry".
After the words of the Capitol, go beyond the discussions?
"Of course - he states -. I hope that reasonableness and common sense will prevail and that the parties will meet - replies the vice president -, also in the Board of Directors, to continue the process of orderly discussion of the topics and orderly continuation of the Foundation's activities".
"I believe that we need to talk, think and find a meeting point, I hope and hope for this - underlines DelGaizo -. But I don't make a political assessment because it's not up to me".
