(ANSA) - BRIATICO (VIBO VALENTIA), DECEMBER 27 - Unidentified people have carried out in Briatico, in the Vibonese area, an act of vandalism against the statue of the "Madonnina del mare". The vandals have beheaded the statue of the Madonna and Child, leaving the heads at the foot of the effigy, which is placed in a grotta at the end of a staircase leading to the beach.
Carabinieri investigated the episode and carried out some technical investigations in an attempt to identify those responsible.
