Cassa Depositi e Prestiti will invest € 28.5 million for the redevelopment of the Palazzo delle Finanze in Scandicci, in the province of Florence, which will host a new center in Yves Saint Laurent for the development and production of leather accessories, as well as training for new professionals. The signing of the 27-year lease was announced today by Fabrizio Palermo, CEO of Cdp who owns the property, by Francesca Bellettini, CEO of Ysl and the mayor of Scandicci Sandro Fallani. "Not only do we recover a neglected property for the community but we also create jobs," explained Palermo. The building complex, built between 1991 and 1994 for the Ministry of Finance, completed only 85% and never used, consists of two buildings with a gross area of approximately 28,700 square meters, and according to forecasts it will be handed over to the brand of the Kering group in September 2022. "We have three fundamental concepts: territory, creating a system, sustainability. This project is the synthesis of these three things," added Palermo, underlining that "from the meetings we had with the mayor and Ysl further ideas have come, and I am convinced that further initiatives will arise ". Cassa Depositi e Prestiti "has believed and believes as much as we have - said Bellettini in turn - in this long-term project fundamental for the growth of our company". For Fallani "the rebirth of this area is proof that when we all work with a common commitment, our country is capable of doing great things, and of winning any condition of degradation". The refurbishment of the external areas involves the construction of public and private parking spaces inside the lot, as well as the enhancement of the green areas around the complex, originally intended to house the Center of the Ministry of Finance for the management of the 740 models of the central regions Italy. The section of public road from which the lot is accessed will also be redeveloped.
