Italians away from Wuhan, quarantine doubts

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 26 - Italy is also preparing the possible evacuation of compatriots who are in the Wuhan area: a hypothesis for the study is the transfer by land, with the condition of remaining under observation for the next 14 days in a hospital Chinese of a safer region. But the prospect of a quarantine does not convince compatriots. There are about fifty Italians currently present in the city of focus and throughout the Hubei region. The embassy in Beijing, in liaison with the Foreign Ministry's Crisis Unit, is in contact with everyone to find out their intentions. For those who decide to leave, the plan provides for bus transport to Changsha, the capital of the Huhan province, about 350 km from Wuhan, from where they would be transferred to a hospital for a two-week observation period. The head of the Crisis Unit Stefano Verrecchia clarified that the quarantine, which would be outgoing and incoming from Wuhan, is "a hypothesis for the study of Italy with the other partners".
