The rapper Pop Smoke was shot dead in a robbery at his home in Hollywood

Rapper Bashar Barakah Jackson, better known by his stage name, Pop Smoke, has been shot dead at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday during a robbery, according to the TMZ celebrity website. The 20-year-old artist and one of the most promising young rap figures was at his home in Hollywood Hills, in the Los Angeles district (USA), when around 4:30 a.m. (local time) two men, dressed in hoodie and masks, broke into the house, according to police sources cited here. Both fired multiple shots, seriously wounding Pop Somke. Subsequently, the two were seen fleeing on foot. So far they have not been arrested or identified.

The rapper, who despite having only been running for two years, had already collaborated with fellow professionals Nicki Minaj and Skepta, was taken by ambulance to the Cedars-Sinai medical center, located in western Hollywood. There, health professionals confirmed his death.

Pop Somke released his first album last July, titled Meet the Woo . The single from the album, which was presented three months earlier, is Welcome to the Party . Two versions of Nicki Minaj and Skepta made this theme. He also collaborated with American rapper Travis Scott last December on the theme Gatti , recorded for a compilation album of Scott where Rosalia also participates.
