Food donated by Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez is aimed at unemployed hotel workers in Miami.

Like several celebrities, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are contributing to help those most affected by the current crisis stemming from COVID-19.

The celebrity couple, taking refuge with their family in a mansion in Coral Gables, donated 20,000 frozen meals, prepared by chefs from "Tiller & Hatch Supply Co.", of which they are joint owners.

These foods are targeted at hotel and restaurant sector workers throughout South Florida who were fired or suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

According to local media such as the Miami Herald , the hotels contacted their employees by email and asked them to visit the valet service where they worked.

The workers were not to leave the vehicles, they only had to open their trunks where the food would be placed.

The packages are distributed with the help of Food Rescue US, a company that recovers leftover food from big events like the Super Bowl to donate to Florida shelters.

"The generosity and support shown by Tiller & Hatch Supply Co., Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez will mean a lot to those facing food insecurity within the Miami community," said Carol Shattuck , CEO of Food Rescue US.

"We are proud to partner to help provide meals to those who have recently lost their jobs in the hospitality sector and others who are facing food insecurity due to COVID-19," he added.

Hotels benefiting include The Shelborne and Mondrian in South Beach, DoubleTree By Hilton Ocean Point Resort in Sunny Isles, and The Mayfair in Coconut Grove.

It should be noted that neither Jennifer Lopez nor Alex Rodriguez were at the delivery sites, as it was felt that it was better for them to stay away due to the "crowd they would attract".

According to the American Hotel and Lodging Association, nearly half of the approximately 750,000 hotel-backed jobs in Florida have been lost due to the pandemic.

It is not the first time that the famous couple has engaged with people affected by the global health crisis, as just two weeks ago they donated through the Feeding America Foundation a million meals to those most affected by COVID-19 in the United States. .

On the other hand, although JLo and her fiancé keep respecting the quarantine, that is not an impediment to exercise, and now they do it from their own home, as recently revealed on social networks.

The former player posted a couple of videos in the Stories section of   his Instagram account, where part of the training they do at home is appreciated, revealing that even isolation does not prevent them from keeping fit.
