He killed his ex-wife, then came to Italy and committed suicide when agents were approaching him. It happened this morning between Villach, Austria, and Tarvisio.
The protagonist of the tragedy was a 64-year-old Austrian citizen, who would not have killed only the ex, a 62-year-old woman, in her home in Villach (it seems using an ax), but then by car he would have gone to the country of current companion, a 56-year-old, and he would have shot her in the street with gunfire: a scene that a child would also have witnessed.
The Carinthian police, on his trail, had also made a helicopter fly up, and when the man crossed the border, he immediately contacted his Italian colleagues. They identified the fugitive in the parking lot of a restaurant in the center of Tarvisio: the man, when he noticed the patrol of the Border Police agents walking in his direction, took out the gun and first fired two shots in the air; therefore, he turned the weapon on himself and killed himself.
