Budelli, via the year the building abuse of the island, "eviction" for caretaker

(ANSA) - LA MADDALENA, JULY 14 - The building abuses on the island of Budelli are off by 2020 and farewell to voluntary exile for the 80-year-old Mauro Morandi, for over thirty years the solitary guardian of the island on behalf of the old woman property, now considered tenant without any title of a state property. The Archipelago National Park of La Maddalena accelerates.

The last board of directors has decided to go ahead in forced stages to keep faith with the time schedule drawn up two years ago and started last year with a reclamation and cleaning work which must be followed by the demolition of works carried out without authorization, such as established by the Municipality of La Maddalena.

The political will of the Park, although it is impossible to indicate a date, is very clear: the recovery of the property is included among the priorities of administrators and management.

It is now history that what is referred to as "the caretaker's house" has undergone changes and transformations over the decades which, according to the Park, at least in part have been carried out without any permission. For this reason they will be torn down, and the start of the construction site will be an opportunity to say goodbye to Morandi, who will not be able to stay there during the works nor will he be able to return later.

Morandi was supposed to have left the island in August 2017 but his "eviction" had been stopped by an online petition that had collected 18 thousand subscriptions. Today his farewell seems almost a certainty.

The demolitions and the restoration of the state of the places will represent a second step compared to the reclamation made last year, with 9 quintals of waste removed by sea: plastics, glass bottles, waste timber, iron, bins, mattresses, even a huge metal buoy. Retrieving the building overlooking the Pink Beach will cost the park 60 thousand euros. The idea is to create an environmental observatory.
