(ANSA) - PALERMO, JULY 16 - The Palermo prosecutor's office, led by Francesco Lo Voi, is considering opening an investigation after the violent flood that yesterday brought the city to its knees.
Dozens of cars overwhelmed by water or trapped in flooded bypasses of the ring road, roads turned into rivers in flood, people forced to put themselves in safety leaving the cars driven away by the rain.
The investigation should ascertain any responsibility in the absence of necessary measures to prevent and deal with the weather emergency which, given not yet confirmed, could have killed two people. A witness said he saw two motorists drown, but the bodies have not yet been found. (ANSA).
