The Police opened an investigation to clarify the causes of the death of the parish priest of San Martín de Porres, in Tucumán, who was found dead on Wednesday, and it is not ruled out that it was a homicide.

According to what the police said, around 10 in the morning, the person in charge of carrying out the cleaning found a person lying and covered with a sheet in one of the rooms in the parish house.

As he got closer he noticed a pool of blood and saw that it was Oscar Juárez, the priest of the church. The body showed signs of having been the victim of a homicide.

The priest Oscar Juárez (right) was found dead in the parish of San Martín de Porres, Tucumán.

At the moment, all the investigative areas are being deployed to clarify the causes of the death of the 67-year-old priest.

Before being in charge of San Martín de Porres, Juárez had been a pastor in the city of Alderetes. "He was loved by everyone," said a neighbor of the area.

The Archbishop of Tucumán, Monsignor Carlos Sánchez, was shocked and is in the temple to learn about what happened.

The case is being investigated by the prosecutor Adriana Giannoni who has already gone to the scene to determine what happened to the pastor.
