On the day of remembrance, Torino placed a wreath of flowers in homage to Gigi Meroni, exactly 53 years after his death.
The operational director of the club, Alberto Barile, together with the club chaplain, Don Riccardo Robella went to the tombstone of the 'Farfalla Granata' in Corso Re Umberto, in Turin, the site of the tragic accident that took place on October 15, 1967, to remember the player grenade disappeared at the age of 24.
"Usually on the Sunday after this commemoration the Bull does not lose, we hope this is also the case this year", said Don Robella.
