Snapchat launches a tool that allows developers and augmented reality enthusiasts to create Lenses based on LiDAR technology for the new iPhone 12 Pro. It's called Lente Studio 3.2.

The latest generation LiDAR technology present on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max can map a scene and place virtual objects on it.

It also allows you to see in the dark and improves focus in low light conditions.

The Studio 3.2 lens allows the Snapchat camera to process a metric survey of the framed scene, identifying the geometry and nature of surfaces and objects.

This new level of scene understanding allows the Lenses to realistically interact with the world around them.

Leveraging the power of Apple's A14 Bionic and ARKit, thousands of AR objects can be reproduced in real time, creating immersive environments, ready to be explored by the entire Snapchat community.

"The introduction of the LiDAR scanner on the iPhone 12 Pro models allows us to reach previously unprecedented levels of creativity for augmented reality - explains Eitan Pilipski, Snapchat's Camera Platform SVP - We are excited to partner with Apple to make available to our community of Lenti developers this sophisticated technology ".

Through a new preview mode of Lente Studio 3.2 you can create Lenses and preview them in the real world even before you have the new iPhone 12 Pro in your hand. Furthermore, you can open Snapchat from the latest Apple iPad Pro to bring the Lenses to life. based on LiDAR technology.
