Mike Horn, “Strip-tease”… RMC Découverte and RMC Story, the little chains that go up

Getting Mike Horn for RMC Découverte was like climbing Mount K2: an almost impossible mission.

However, the two parties have come to an agreement.

The extreme adventurer, absent from the small screen since the last issue of "Cap Horn", with Bernard de La Villardière, broadcast at the end of 2018 on M6, will offer "Mike Horn: alone in the face of the impossible", a series documentary on his incredible expeditions.

Enough to ensure a very good poster for the channel 24 channel. "We do not have the means for TMC, it is up to us to be smarter," says Stéphane Sallé de Chou, director of RMC Découverte and RMC Story.

The latter ended the year on a good note: 1.5% audience share in 2020, better than in 2019 (1.3%).

In October, it drew the spotlight by relaunching “Bring the accused in”, a cult brand abandoned by France Télévisions.

Next move?

"The Economy of Crime" with Netflix

A year earlier, RMC Story had also made a name for itself with a new version of "Strip-tease", which received wide coverage in the media thanks to a controversy.

"As long as it makes talk about the show ...", already rejoiced Stéphane Sallé de Chou.

Since last March, the collection of documentaries “The hidden face of…” has also made a remarkable entry on the grid.

On the RMC Découverte side, the best shot is the French adaptation of “Top Gear”, which raised the channel to 2.3% audience share.

Other notable adaptations, that of the British reality show “Hunted” renamed “Escape” or of the completely naked survival program “Return to primary instinct”.

To attract 25-49 year olds, the priority target of the two channels, Stéphane Sallé de Chou is also preparing to unsheathe a small bomb: “the Economy of crime”, which will be embodied by genre specialist Bertrand Monnet, in co-production with Netflix.
