(ANSA) - ROME, 03 JUL - The sales season starts today in most of the Italian regions, shortly after Sicily where the summer discounts already arrived on July 1st, last Thursday. The decision to delay the start, on the other hand, was made this year only in Puglia, from 24 July, and in Basilicata, from 2 August. It is a stage in the challenge of recovery for the world of commerce heavily penalized by the Covid emergency and by the lockdown periods. The match for trade is 2.6 billion euros according to Confcommercio estimates, which foresees an average expenditure for the typical family of 171 euros. Edi 74 euros on average per person.
Fismo, the association of fashion trade companies belonging to Confesercenti, is more optimistic, which on the basis of a survey carried out by Swg foresees an average expenditure of 285 euros per family, equal to 124 per person, with a strong polarization: one Italian out of three yes will hold under 100 euros, while 20% will spend more than 200 euros. In any case, we are still below the pre-covid levels of the 2019 season.
Different expectations also on the front of consumer associations. "Good discounts, up sharply compared to those of this winter, even if lower than the record ones recorded last summer", says the UNC.
