The campaign to vote for the “Save our monuments” operation, launched in partnership with the start-up Dartagnans, ended on November 7.

Thanks to you, these vestiges of the past will regain color.

Many of you mobilized for this second edition of the “Sauvons nos monuments” operation in partnership with the start-up Dartagnans.

In total, more than 17,000 people voted to decide between the eighteen heritage sites in Île-de-France preselected by us.

Now, the second phase of this unprecedented action to preserve heritage can begin.

Here are the nine monuments chosen by the public to benefit from the crowdfunding campaign.

Everyone can now make a donation from 5 euros on the Sauvonsnosmonuments.fr site until December 31.

Paris: the stained glass windows of the Notre-Dame du Bon Conseil church in the 18th arrondissement

70.8% of the vote

The eighteen lovely stained-glass windows in the Notre-Dame-du-bon-Conseil church need restoration to regain their splendor.

In the capital, the superb stained glass windows of the Notre-Dame du Bon Conseil church won over the voters. These works produced in the 1930s and 1940s by the Mauméjean workshop won 70.8% of the vote, ie 1,589 votes out of a total of 2,244. The Le Prévost foundation, which defends the project, does not hide its enthusiasm. "This will finally give the impetus to the site", welcomes Caroline Morizot, responsible for the inventory at the diocese of Paris. With the prize pool, the foundation intends to renovate the non-figurative stained glass windows located above the entrance. Then, each work will be restored one after the other.

“To renovate them, you will have to set up scaffolding, then remove each panel one after the other.

The stained-glass windows will then be taken to the workshop of a restorer.

They will be cleaned there and the broken glasses will be glued ”, she explains.

The icing on the cake: the most generous donors will be able to visit the workshop to observe the restoration.

“Usually, you only admire the stained-glass windows from above.

However, these donors will see them closely, points out Caroline Morizot.

It is a magical experience to live.

Seine-Saint-Denis: the SNCF car from the “Capitole” of Saint-Denis

59.6% of the vote

An association of parents of students plans to convert this abandoned wagon into a cultural café-restaurant intended for high school students and residents.

DR

A rare wagon attracted attention in Seine-Saint-Denis. The SNCF car on the “Capitole” train aroused more enthusiasm than the Montfermeil mill, garnering 59.6% of the votes (1,385 out of 2,324). At the time, this high-speed train connecting Paris to Toulouse stood out as a flagship of high technology. Only forty-two cars of this model have existed. But today, the wagon remains abandoned near a high school. So the local association the Dionysiacs wishes to transform it into a cultural café-restaurant for high school students and residents.

“The whole city of Saint-Denis is waiting for this wagon to become a place of life again.

It is an emblem of the district because it has been installed in the same place for three years, notes Fanny Capel, founder of the association.

There is a real dynamic around this project which surprises us ourselves.

The jackpots should help finance part of the repair of the floor and the structure in order to be able to welcome the public quickly.

From 2022, the site could already welcome, thanks to you, the world and exhibitions.

Hauts-de-Seine: the boudoir of Maison Massena in Bagneux

47.2% of the vote

Bagneux.

The envelope to restore the Eugénie Renique boudoir in the Masséna house amounts to 300,000 euros.

Sebastien bellanger

In the Hauts-de-Seine, the Massena boudoir of the eponymous house in Bagneux will benefit from the crowdfunding campaign *. It is a superb piece decorated with delicacy by Eugénie Renique, the famous mistress of General André Massena, at the beginning of the First Empire. The patterns painted on the walls are inspired by the fashion of Pompeii. At the time, the rediscovery of the Roman city was indeed a huge inspiration in terms of interior decoration. This room also houses a magnetic portrait of Eugénie Renique, a former opera dancer, dating from 1808.

But today, this elegant jewel and the treasures it contains are in a state of unstable conversation.

It is plagued by infiltrations.

Some woodwork has moved and slits are visible on each panel.

Listed as a historic monument since 1990, the room had never been restored until now.

With the pot, the project leader would like to quickly launch the restoration in order to open it to visitors from the 2022 Heritage Days.

The Church of Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul de Clamart won with a slight lead (52.8% of the vote, or 745 out of 1,412) but will not continue the adventure for administrative reasons

Val-de-Marne: the Sainte-Agnès church in Maisons-Alfort

60.8% of the vote

The Saine-Agnès church needs to be renovated at the entrance porch.

LP / Laure Parny

In the Val-de-Marne, it is still a religious building which enjoys the majority of the votes. The singular Sainte-Agnès concrete church in Maisons-Alfort gathered 60.8% of the votes. This department also stood out as the one that mobilized the most voters. This monument garnered 1,509 votes out of a total of 2,480 voters, the strongest mobilization of the operation.

“It's a great joy, reacts Pascal Méchain, bursar of the parish.

We are delighted that our church is recognized as a masterpiece of Art Deco heritage.

It deserves it: this monument can be seen on the East Highway in both directions so much it imposes!

Because this building, built in the 1930s, is distinguished by its 53 m high bell tower and its bottle shape of Suze, a strong alcohol highly prized at the time of its construction.

“It is said that it would be a nod from the architects to the generous patrons who made it possible to build it,” says Pascal Méchain.

The pot will be used to finance the renovation of its facade, the stones of which stand out in places.

Val-d'Oise: the troglodyte reservoir of the castle of La Roche-Guyon

39.5% of the vote

The reservoir of the castle of La Roche-Guyon, dug into the cliff, has been immortalized in the form of engravings. Val d'Oise archives

Definitely, this precious domain, leaning against the cliff in a breathtaking natural site, has not finished surprising us. The Château de la Roche-Guyon, designated winner for the Val-d'Oise *, hopes to one day reveal to the public a secret place carved into the cliff: a reservoir which was used to supply several structures in the park of the domain and from the village. Of course, this historic basin cannot be replenished, but it is unusual enough to warrant a visit. The castle would therefore like to secure the site and especially restore access. "Today to go there you have to slip into a mouse hole," explains Marie-Laure Atger, the director. Due to its location, in the heart of the cliff, this basin which looks like a large swimming pool seems to be unique in France.

The Church of Saint-Sulpice de Montsoult came first with 60.5% of the votes (821 votes out of 1,357) but its project leader did not wish to continue the adventure.

Essonne: the Saint-Aignan church in Chalou-Moulineux

63.7% of the vote

If the stabilization of its structure is not achieved as soon as possible, the Saint-Aignan church risks collapsing.

DR

Decidedly, Ile-de-France and Oisiens are very attached to their churches.

That of Saint-Aignan, camped in the village of Chalou-Moulineux, obtained the highest score with 63.7%, or 1,181 votes out of 1,851. Something to delight the 429 inhabitants of this small town.

Because this is a real heritage in danger.

If nothing is done, this building built at the time of the Templars was in danger of collapsing.

" That's very good news.

The public has really mobilized for our church, cannot get over Maxime Rondu, municipal councilor.

The fervor has overtaken our village!

From now on, the work will have to stabilize the structure of the building.

“The first phase will consist of installing two metal bars that will prevent the walls from moving apart.

The north facade has a tendency to go outwards, a bit like an accordion, reports Maxime Rondu.

I want to thank all voters.

But we must continue to mobilize for the call for donations.

"

Yvelines: the organ of the Saint-Béat d'Épône church

52.5% of the vote

This organ composed of 342 pipes was designed by the renowned craftsman Aristide Cavaillé Col.

DR

The match was played with a few votes.

But it is ultimately the organ of the Church of Saint-Béat d'Épône that garnered the most votes with 52.5% of the votes.

Designed by craftsman Aristide Cavaillé-Coll in 1878, this instrument made up of 342 pipes was originally made for the church of Enghien-les-Bains.

"We are happy to have taken part in the operation which offers great visibility", welcomes Pascal Dagory, deputy for culture, heritage and tourism of the town.

Thanks to this voting campaign, the elected officials were contacted by the Aristide Cavaillé-Coll association, which works for the recognition of these remarkable instruments.

“This organ was not in their repertoire so they were delighted to discover it, relates the chosen one.

We will organize events with them to learn lots of anecdotes about its history!

"

In the meantime, the municipality is pleased to be able to start the restoration of the instrument thanks to the future earnings of the jackpot.

“It will be necessary to dismantle the box spring where the pipes rest and then to dismantle them one after the other, details the elected official.

It will take about 8 months.

The objective will be to keep its original condition and its beautiful craftsmanship.

"

Seine-et-Marne: the conical anti-aircraft shelter at Villenoy

51.1% of the vote

The conical shelter of 1940 was intended to shelter the inhabitants of the bombs of the war.

LP / Faustine Léo

In this department, the results were tight. But it was the conical anti-aircraft shelter at Villenoy which mobilized the most voters. This surprisingly shaped monument, built in the 1940s, convinced 51.1% of the public, or 380 votes out of 744. “Thanks to this campaign, we have succeeded in promoting this concrete construction, which is unique in France. Generally, air raid shelters are rather underground, especially in cellars, in France. This type of shelter exists only in Germany. It was built by an engineer from the sugar refinery located just next door in floodable land, explains Emmanuel Hude, mayor of the town. We really needed this funding to save this monument, which unfortunately was eaten away by rust. "

The site will consist of renovating the exterior.

So far, the shelter has only been open on key dates like November 11.

From now on, the town hopes to rehabilitate the whole in order to be able to offer regular visits.

Better, the mayor even plans to install a museum part there.

Oise: Saint-Pierre de Jaux church

80.7% of the vote

The nave and part of the roof of the Saint-Pierre church in the village of Jaux will be restored.

LP / Simon Gourru

The success for the Saint-Pierre church in the village of Jaux has been overwhelming! This building of flamboyant Gothic architecture gathered 80.7% of the votes, or 1,080 out of 1,338. A result that delighted the elected officials of the town who carried this project head-on. "I feel great satisfaction," confides Freddy Groszek, public finance assistant. This church is very loved by our inhabitants. It is often chosen for funerals. We bring in a priest specifically for that. "

The donations will finance the work for the nave and part of the roof.

First objective: to avoid the leaks which degrade its interior and in particular its beam with remarkable ornaments.

"We want to restore our beautiful church in order to prevent it from becoming a ruin in the coming years," said the elected official.

In the meantime, the municipality plans to animate this monument for the end of the year celebrations.

A choir project is underway for the month of December.
