An 18-year-old was apparently killed in a dispute between two groups in Munich.
A 15-year-old who was also involved was taken to the hospital on Monday afternoon with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the police said.
According to the information, the groups apparently consisted mostly of young people and adolescents.
It is still unclear why they attacked each other on Monday afternoon in the Milbertshofen district of Munich.
18-year-old died in hospital
The 18-year-old was injured in the altercation and was then taken to the hospital under ongoing resuscitation, but died there.
The 15-year-old was seriously injured "by sharp force".
The forensics team carried out security measures at the scene of the crime, it is said.
With reference to tactical reasons, the police have not wanted to provide any further information.
Investigations into the background to the crime and the perpetrator(s) are ongoing.
