A woman from Upper Bavaria is said to have killed her 89-year-old father in order to get his inheritance.
As reported by the police, the 63-year-old was arrested in Palma de Mallorca last Friday.
According to the findings of the investigators, the daughter from the district of Rosenheim had given her father substances over a long period of time that led to his death.
According to the police, this was the result of forensic examinations that had been ordered on suspicion of a homicide.
The police did not provide any information about the substances.
The police spoke of significant sums of money from the deceased's inheritance, which were considered the motive for the crime.
The man died in November last year.
Shortly after the death of the father to Mallorca
The suspicion was directed against relatives of the dead and in particular against the daughter.
She traveled to Mallorca from Germany shortly after her father's death and has been on the holiday island continuously since then.
When she was arrested by the Spanish police, investigators from Bavaria were also present.
According to previous knowledge, the man's inheritance was in the low six-digit range, said a spokesman.
The suspected daughter is currently in extradition custody in Spain.
According to the information, the public prosecutor's office in Traunstein had obtained a European arrest warrant against the woman in January.
