(ANSA) - PERUGIA, APRIL 24 - The extraordinary PerugiaAssisi March dedicated in particular to peace in Ukraine, which takes place today and which will start shortly from the Giardini del Frontone in Perugia, began with a minute disillusion for all the vttime of wars, arriving in Assisi in the lower square of San Francesco.
Already hundreds of people present, on a day with uncertain weather, with flags of peace, but no political departures.
"Stop! War is madness", the title of this edition, to which hundreds of associations linked to voluntary work, institutions, private and public realities, over 300 cities, trade unions, and among others, Fnsi, Order of Journalists, Usigrai, have joined. Article 21.
"We must not break ties with anyone - said Flavio Lotti, the coordinator of the organizing committee, in his speech this morning -, we must also work during the war to build peace. There are no enemies, we have no enemies, the only enemy is the war and all those who feed it, even with the sale of weapons. Today we are here to say that there is another way to help the Ukrainian people and that is to take the word from arms and give it to politics. Don't call us noble, beautiful souls, we are here to resume and raise the cry of pain of all the victims of wars, in all parts of the world, which we continue not to want to see, which we culpably continue to ignore. They have the duty to stop them, that's why we are here ".
