(ANSA) - ROCCABERNARDA, 10 JUL - Two seventeen-year-olds are investigated as the alleged perpetrators of the violent assault, which took place during the night in Roccabernarda, in the Crotone area, against the damages of the former mayor Francesco Coco, non-commissioned officer of the retired carabinieri.
The position of the two minors, one of them grandson of a member of the local clans, is being examined by the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Petilia Policastro who, together with the soldiers of the Operational Department - Crotone Investigative Unit, immediately started investigations to shed light on the incident with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Catanzaro.
The attack took place just before midnight when two people, with distorted faces, waited for Coco in the garden of her rural home and attacked him as he was climbing out of the car, hitting him with a stick.
The two then fled to the surrounding countryside.
The Suem 118 health workers intervened on the spot and provided the first aid to take the victim of the attack first to the hospital in Crotone from where it was then decided to transfer to the Pugliese-Ciaccio di Catanzaro.
Cocoè is currently hospitalized with a reserved prognosis, but she is not in danger of life.
The investigations initiated by the Arma investigators led to the two seventeen-year-olds against whom no judicial order has yet been issued.
