Every Friday evening in Paris (8th arrondissement), behind the Petit Palais, powerful racing cars parade and roar. This car rally

Big cars, roaring engines and spitting exhaust pipes… On Friday evening, Avenue Dutuit, located just behind the Petit Palais, in the very chic 8th arrondissement of Paris, changes its face.

Here, a stone's throw from the Champs and the Élysée, a "rasso" (for "gathering") is held, a popular weekly meeting for young car enthusiasts, and in particular for "customized" vehicles, with engines, rims, exhaust pipes and spectacular bodywork.

For the occasion, the avenue is therefore transformed into a parade for lovers of tuning and/or prestige cars.

“We saw a Lamborghini Huracan, a Ferrari 812 GTS, a Mercedes C63…”, list in particular Ryan and Timothé, two young enthusiasts.

This unauthorized gathering, which attracts a young audience every week, is regularly visited by the police, who come to draw up reports for lack of parking.

But the major fear of the police is that some participants go beyond the framework of the simple parade, in particular to push accelerations at the wheel of their cars.

In our article of July 15, devoted to the "rasso" of the Petit Palais, a police source explained: "It's not just the parade, assured this official.

Guys go crazy.

They hit peaks at 170, 200 km/h in the tunnel towards Alma and on the way back.

According to the same source, no accident involving a driver of the "rasso" was found.

But the fear is very real.

“We are not in a large suburban rasso which is held in the parking lot of a shopping center or in an industrial zone, contextualizes this police officer.

Here, there are always people, whatever the time.

A tragedy can happen very quickly.
